About

👋 I help shape Slack’s Core Surfaces and Information Architecture, transforming ambiguous, horizontal problems into concrete visions. Previously, I led our Accessible Design program, where I helped set new industry standards across a variety of products. I believe that everyone deserves to use technology that is useful, helpful, and delightful. You can learn more about some of my work on the Slack Design Blog.

Work Experience

2024 — Now
Vancouver, BC

I lead design efforts for Slack’s desktop experiences, focusing on simplifying information architecture (IA) and improving cohesion. Recent highlights include Channel Tabs, which enabled strategic cross-functional initiatives like Salesforce Channels and Channel Templates. I also care deeply about mentorship and work to foster a culture of craft and inclusion within the team.

2022 — 2024
Vancouver, BC

I led accessibility efforts on major Slack projects like IA4 and Canvas, setting new industry standards with the development of the first fully accessible drag-and-drop editor. I worked closely with cross-functional teams and external partners (like Figma) to push the boundaries of accessible design. Along the way, I mentored designers and fostered a culture of inclusion and innovation.

2020 — 2022
Vancouver, BC

I contributed to the migration of Slack’s design system to Figma Variants, improving scalability and saving designers hours each week. I also played a key role in building accessibility-first features into Huddles, our audio-first communication tool, which saw a 27% increase in weekly active users. My work here focused on scaling our design systems while keeping things simple and efficient.

2019 — 2020
Vancouver, BC

I led the User Education Team, building learning experiences that leveraged adult learning theory to help users master Slack. I also developed the first user journey and curriculum for Slack, created metrics to track learning sophistication, and published a range of educational resources.

2016 — 2019
Toronto, ON

I managed a team of 5 to lead creative and strategic multimedia campaigns supporting Shopify’s ecosystem. I oversaw everything from social promos to live event production, including photo libraries and short-to-medium format films.

2012 — 2015
Cupertino, CA

As part of the Global Retail Training Team, I facilitated specialized employee training internationally. I developed training materials and programs, specializing in “train-the-trainer” methodologies and personal development strategies for leaders. Additionally, I supported Canadian-English localization of Siri for two summer internships.
