Traditionally, understanding how to spend money has been a single-player activity. There are a ton of old budgeting products out there, but they're all focused on simply aggregating the ways you spend money. We believe this isn't that helpful. A better question is: how is everyone else spending money?

We believe that sharing and discovering how people spend money is not only interesting, but is a critical component of advancing a more open, transparent, and fair economy. Am I spending too much on rent? What's the average amount people spend to go out to eat on a Friday night? How often do other people buy new shoes? These are all questions that are really hard to answer, because there's no good way for people to share how they spend money today. By creating a secure, easy, and fun way for individuals to share their daily transactions, we can build a new standard for money that helps people better understand the best ways to spend.

One of the most powerful capabilities of large language models is the ability to turn raw, unstructured data into consumable, insightful stories. We use LLMs to help users create context out of their transactions and discover how money is being spent in the world.
