For the last three years I've been designing and laying out *[The Drift](https://www.thedriftmag.com)* magazine, as well as creating spot illustrations for their Dispatch section. \
\
Each illustration corresponds to a single short essay, commissioned each issue around a specific theme (the Supreme Court, the avant-garde, climate activism etc). The magazine prints in black and white so I always do the illustrations in grayscale, with the knowledge they must look good in print and on the web, alone but also in the context of others.

I've enjoyed experimenting with slightly different styles each time, tailored to fit the magazine's contents.

Digital Product Designer

* I've worked with clients including podcasts, scientists, television writers, and nonprofits to create logos, online branding, brochures for print, infographics, pitch decks, and scientific illustrations. — 2017 to present

Freelance Design

* Illustrate each cover, lay out each issue, create relevant digital branding materials, and coordinate with printers for each release cycle. — 2021 to present

* I worked with the two Editors in Chief to translate their quarterly online-only magazine into print. I established a visual language and aesthetic for the magazine, and in addition to laying out the first issue created a flexible template for all future issues. — 2021

Print Designer

* Overhauled Airtable's charts and data visualization system

* Worked on new data view types (0->1 creation of tree views and org charts)

* Was one of three designers re-launching [Apps by Airtable](https://www.airtable.com/platform/apps-by-airtable), a complete redesign of Airtable's use-case focused interface experience, specifically focusing on [product](https://www.airtable.com/solutions/product) and [marketing](https://www.airtable.com/solutions/marketing) use cases.
