## Overview

As a leading open SaaS platform with professional services, Olo enables over 700 brands to jointly reach 85 million connected guests across approximately 80,000 locations.

## Getting started

As lead product designer, I was tasked with spinning up prototypes and validating our new brand and design language with our customers.

**Team goals** were as follows:

1. **Discover** - Perform 20+ customer discovery interviews

2. **Build** - Rapidly design prototype and marketing site

3. **Launch** - Launch and promote via organic/inorganic channels

4. **Test** - Test iterative improvements/ideas to see what increases conversion

## Impact

* Lead design workshops where we collaborated on HMW, and base assumptions.

* Challenged team assumptions and bias, pushed for change based on feedback and insights gathered during interviews and visiting stores.

* Shipped an all new brand and design system to over 80k customers.

* Developed feature-rich solutions that enabled our customers' to leverage guest data to deliver customized experiences.

## Process

* Extensive user testing using Maze as our go to research tool for gathering insights and validating designs. Including visiting local customers to discuss pains and review prototypes.

* Leading workshops and ideations with product/eng group.

* Create customer journeys that help fill in the gaps missed during discovery or after further insights were gathered.

* Pushed the boundaries on what we delivered from a quality perspective. We moved fast, but we also shipped quality features and assets.

## MVP Design & Build

Over the year that I was at Olo we built an shipped a redesign of Old Dashboard for web + mobile, a new design system for all product lanes, including marketing, and shipped all of this to 80k customers across the country.

### Speed matters

* Creating a scalable process for design to get from discovery -> iteration -> handoff needed to be a well oiled machine. Each day mattered.

* Speed forces humility. I grew to enjoy killing ideas fast.

* Scaling a design system to meet these demands were paramount.

### Navigate ambiguity

* When designing a new product, nothing is set in stone.

* Push forward on decisions. Note assumptions and revisit later.

With over 8+ years of experience in user experience design, interaction design, and visual design. I have the ability to think through large, complex design systems, and strong proficiency with human-centered design best practices. I’m known for producing high quality, interactive prototypes and am able to test them with customers to measure their effectiveness, usefulness, and delightfulness. I have exceptional communication skills that create buy-in for user-centered product strategy, as well as an ability to speak on a technical level and communicate clearly with engineers and other stakeholders within my team and beyond.\

I’m also a pretty cool human with broad interest in a number of things. Taking photos on my Olympus Stylus Epic II (old film P&S), drawing, hiking, running, reading, and recently typing on an old typewriter from the 50s. Saving the best for last, my family. They will always come before anything I do, that is what makes me who I am, and allows me to BE who I am.

At Prenda, I designed and built software solutions for K-12 students, developing a design system that streamlined user interactions and enhanced educational experiences.

At LegalShield, I designed and developed consumer legal products, creating intuitive interfaces that improved user accessibility and streamlined legal services.

I contributed to the design and implementation of a comprehensive design system for Anthem Medical, one of the largest medical insurance providers in the country. This project streamlined user experiences and ensured consistent, efficient interactions across their digital platforms, significantly enhancing accessibility and functionality.

As the Lead Product Designer at ClassRanked. My role focused on enhancing user experiences and improving the efficiency of services for educational institutions across the country. I lead our small design team, mentored junior designer and established processes from workshops and ideation, through smooth handoff to engineering.
